I guess if you read my previous post (HOME FOR #MBFWJ17) you probably know that I was at this year’s AFI Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Joburg for their Spring/Summer Collection edition themed #ROOTEDINSTYLE. 10 years celebration of African Fashion International is what made the 3 days from 17-19 August even more special.
In as much as I was hoping we’d be showing off a bit of skin, Johannesburg was hella cold(yooo).Your Faves and I from time to time found ourselves in layers more than I hoped we’d not due to the weather. However this did not stop the designers from setting the Summer/Spring trends with their threads/designs.
I must admit by the way, that I did not really manage to attend all shows. Some slots especially the early ones,we’d be stuck in traffic from Joburg city centre to Midrand . However I managed to make it to majority of the shows. Check out a few of my favourite designs and patterns from a select respective designers.
MALL OF AFRICA
These designs are in no particular order.I must say i chose designs and patterns i know an average person who does not want to be extra (haha) like me would be comfortable in.I mean with me,its all about being sophisticated yet simple and comfortable in your threads.I was very impressed with what Mall of Africa,Simon and Fabiana did with men’s suit. Its no secret that when i get invited to Fashion Shows i look forward to men’s wear especially suits. As to Scalo , i think he exposed my next item on my bucket list, men’s jumpsuit/dungaree…tailored of course…Just stay tuned, i’ll be rocking it soon somewhere (haha).
Otherwise i indeed had a great time,it was a great privilege to be there and amongst media personalities .I look forward to the next and hopefully by then i’d go to an extend of sharing my looks.
All these images are from African Fashion International, check their site to see more, you might like other designs i did not feature.
Till next time
